Prepare to laugh!! Ballet Idaho is taking classic fun to a whole new level next season starting with Swan Lake, Idaho! Zimo meets Tchaikovsky as we present the second act of the classic lakeside ballet, Idaho style. Additionally, Peter Anastos’ international hit comedy Yes, Virginia, Another Piano Ballet is also on the program. Uniquely breaking language barriers, this ballet had audiences laughing on five continents! Our first program will close with last season’s hit, the Fred & Ginger ballroom ballet, Footage. We promise patrons will leave the theater dancing on a cloud!

Ballet Idaho continues the classic holiday tradition and is pleased to present The Nutcracker this December. With extraordinary choreography, beautiful sets and costumes, this will celebrate the season in dazzling fashion — a joyful and elegant Holiday Party, a Christmas Garland Dance, a whimsical mechanical mouse and a magical growing Christmas tree along with a large and enthusiastic cast of young dancers and singers from throughout the Treasure Valley. Tchaikovsky’s classic score will be performed live by the Boise Philharmonic. Join us to celebrate Ballet Idaho's holiday family favorite THE NUTCRACKER!

More fun is in store when the season’s third program takes to the Morrison Center stage for two performances only. Cinderella and the Ugly Stepsisters and of course, the lost slipper, will take the audience on a magical journey from Cinderella’s kitchen to the Palace Ball to a fairytale ending. This new Ballet Idaho production with lavish scenery by Mike Helms from Nevada Ballet Theatre and costumes by Nutcracker designer A. Christina Giannini, features new choreography by artistic director, Peter Anastos.

Closing the 2009-2010 season are three very different ballets, featuring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, choreographed by
Balletmaster, Alex Ossadnik. Also on stage, will be Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, a Venetian comic adventure based on the
drawings of Domenico Tiepolo and a new ballet choreographed to Mendelssohn’s lush Italian Symphony by Artistic Director, Peter Anastos. The All-Italian Program features Ballet Idaho’s commitment to presenting fine classical ballet to great music.
