Experience the exciting vision and artistry of the Ballet Idaho’s new Artistic Director, Peter Anastos. The new artists of Idaho’s resident classic ballet company open their first season with Fall Collage of Classics.

Enjoy the musical genius of Mozart in A Little Night Music performed live by musicians from the Boise Philharmonic. Exquisite classic costumes designed by Lito-John Demetita shimmer and sparkle with timeless original choreography by Peter Anastos.

Clair de Lune
Three couples explore the sinuous and undulating designs of Debussy's solo piano mucic, performed live on-stage, in an Impressionist ballet that conjures up the mood of Monet's Water Lilies. Live piano music played by Del Parkinson.

A salute to Fred and Ginger, Footage is a high-spirited and frothy tribute to 1930's Hollywood musicals, danced to the music of the Jack Hylton Orchestra using a fun combination of ballroom and ballet.

The Nutcracker — December 12-14, 2008; Morrison Center for the Performing Arts

NutcrackerThis December, Ballet Idaho is very pleased to present an entirely new production of the beloved holiday classic. With new choreography, new sets and costumes, this will celebrate the season in dazzling fashion — a joyful and elegant Holiday Party, a Christmas Garland Dance, a whimsical mechanical mouse and a magical growing Christmas tree along with a large and enthusiastic cast of young dancers and singers from throughout the Treasure Valley. Tchaikovsky’s classic score will be performed live by the Boise Philharmonic. This all-new production will feature new scenery and costumes designed by award-winning New York designer, A. Christina Gianinni. Her work for the Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, the Broadway stage, Television and Film is acclaimed throughout the country. Join us and our new company to celebrate the PREMIERE of Ballet Idaho's new THE NUTCRACKER!

NutcrackerAn entirely new production of Shakespeare's hilarious romantic comedy is brought to life through the music of Mendelssohn and the delightful choreography of Peter Anastos. Exprience the magic and fantasy of an enchanting forest, star-crossed lovers and a royal wedding. This is an enchanting, fun-filled ballet for the entire family! The new company is joined by a cast of sixteen children.

Spring Collage of Classics — May 1-3, 2009; BSU Special Events Center

NutcrackerOur Spring Collage of Classics is a program of three diverse ballets in a series of four performances presented at the BSU Special Events Center on the BSU campus. Sweet Dreams features the music of Patsy Cline and the guitar concertos of Antonio Vivaldi, in a surprising East-meets-West must-see. The Rite of Spring highlights a new and original ballet by resident Ballet Master, Alex Ossadnik. This powerful and emotional score is one of the masterpieces of 20th century music. For the third ballet, Ravel's jazz-inspired Piano Concert in G Major accompanies a fast-paced, witty and beautiful new ballet by Peter Anastos — a sleek and elegant classic ballet full of energy and drive.
